Getting There

Car
From Borgarfjörður, head southeast on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Reykjavík. Continue for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the city. Once in Reykjavík, follow signs for the Vesturbær area. Turn onto Sæbraut road, which will lead you toward the coast. Keep an eye out for the Norðurgarður Lighthouse, which is located at the end of the North Mole, just past the harbor area. There is no entrance fee to visit the lighthouse.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Borgarfjörður to Reykjavík. The bus ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Reykjavík, you can take a local bus (Line 1) or a taxi to the Vesturbær area. Alight at the stop nearest to Sæbraut road, from where you can walk to the North Mole area, keeping the coast on your right. The walk to the lighthouse from this point is approximately 1 kilometer along the waterfront. Note that bus and taxi fares vary, so check local services for current rates.
