Bus
From central Borgarnes, walk to the Borgarnes Bus Station located near the town center. Board the bus heading towards Reykjavík, which is clearly marked on the front. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavík, you will need to transfer to a local bus. Take Bus 1 towards 'Hlemmur' and get off at the stop 'Tryggvagata'. From there, walk towards Tryggvagötu 19, which is at the Old Harbour Grófin. Kolaportið will be on your left side.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop in Borgarnes. Start from the town center and follow Route 1 towards Reykjavík. The ride is approximately 70 km and will take around 4-5 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach Reykjavík, look for signs towards the Old Harbour area. Kolaportið is located at Tryggvagötu 19, which is easily accessible by following the waterfront path.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Borgarnes and prefer to walk, head towards the waterfront along the main street. Follow the path leading to the outskirts of the town, and then take the trail that leads to the highway. The total distance is about 70 km, which will take a full day to walk. Alternatively, consider taking the bus for a portion of the journey to save time and energy.
