Bus
From Grindavik, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the center of the town. Look for the bus schedule for the route that goes towards Reykjavík. Take bus number 55, which will take you directly to Reykjavík. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Reykjavík, get off at the stop 'Hlemmur' and transfer to bus number 1 or 12, which will take you to 'Tryggvagata'. Get off at the 'Tryggvagata' stop and walk for about 5 minutes towards the Old Harbour, following the signs. Kolaportið will be located at Tryggvagötu 19.
Walking
If you are already in the town of Grindavik, walk towards the main road (Route 43) and follow it northward until you reach the bus stop. This is where you will catch the bus to Reykjavík as mentioned above. It's about a 15-minute walk to the bus stop. Be sure to check the local bus schedules for the best times to travel.
Taxi
You can also call a local taxi from Grindavik to take you directly to Kolaportið in Reykjavík. This will be more expensive than the bus but will drop you off right at the market. The drive takes around 30 minutes, and you can tell the driver to take you to Tryggvagötu 19, Old Harbour, Reykjavík.
