    From Hafnarfjörður, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take the Strætó bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. Get off at the 'Reykjavík, Hlemmur' stop. From Hlemmur, transfer to bus number 54 towards 'Garðabær'. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 'Garðabær, Búðardalur' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers. Head south on Búðardalur street, then take a right onto Þinghólsvegur. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Gunnuhver road. Gunnuhver will be on your left after about 500 meters.

    If you are already in Hafnarfjörður, you can start at the Hafnarfjörður town center. Walk towards the seaside and follow the coastal path that leads to the main road. Head north until you reach the 'Hafnarfjörður, Fjarðargata' bus stop. From here, take bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. Follow the previous instructions from Hlemmur to Garðabær. Upon arrival, follow the walking directions as mentioned.
