Bus
From Hafnarfjörður, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take the Strætó bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. Get off at the 'Reykjavík, Hlemmur' stop. From Hlemmur, transfer to bus number 54 towards 'Garðabær'. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 'Garðabær, Búðardalur' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers. Head south on Búðardalur street, then take a right onto Þinghólsvegur. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Gunnuhver road. Gunnuhver will be on your left after about 500 meters.

If you are already in Hafnarfjörður, you can start at the Hafnarfjörður town center. Walk towards the seaside and follow the coastal path that leads to the main road. Head north until you reach the 'Hafnarfjörður, Fjarðargata' bus stop. From here, take bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. Follow the previous instructions from Hlemmur to Garðabær. Upon arrival, follow the walking directions as mentioned.

Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Hafnarfjörður. Start your ride by heading towards the main road leading out of town. Cycle along the coastal road and continue towards Reykjavík. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach the intersection with Gunnuhver road. Follow the signs for Gunnuhver, and it will be approximately another 3 kilometers down the road. Take caution as parts of the road may not be well-maintained.

If you prefer a more direct option, you can call a taxi from any location in Hafnarfjörður. Provide the driver with the destination, Gunnuhver hot springs. The trip will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. It is also possible to use ride-sharing apps if available.
