From Hengifoss Waterfall, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east towards Seydisfjordur. Follow the signs for Seydisfjordur, which is approximately 25 kilometers away. After you reach the town of Seydisfjordur, continue towards the Gufu waterfall by following the road signs. You will need to switch to Route 93, which leads directly to Gufu waterfall. The waterfall is located at the coordinates 65.2398959, -14.0575765. Look for parking areas near the waterfall.

To reach Gufu waterfall from Hengifoss Waterfall using public transportation, first, take a bus from the Hengifoss area to Egilsstaðir, which is the nearest larger town with more frequent bus services. Buses run several times a day. After arriving in Egilsstaðir, catch a bus heading to Seydisfjordur. Upon arriving in Seydisfjordur, you can either walk to the Gufu waterfall or find a local taxi service to take you directly to the waterfall (approximately 10-15 minutes).
