From the main area of Kerlingarfjöll, head southeast on the main road (F35). Continue on F35 for about 12 kilometers. You will see a turn-off for Kerlingardalur on the right, marked with a sign. Follow this road, which is a gravel track, for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Kerlingardalur. Please note that a 1,000 ISK fee may be required for parking at the entrance.

If you're using public transportation, the nearest bus stop is located at the main visitor center in Kerlingarfjöll. Check the schedule for buses heading to the area surrounding Kerlingardalur. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach the entrance of Kerlingardalur. This walk will take you along a scenic route, but be prepared for varying terrain. There may be no direct public transport to Kerlingardalur, so plan accordingly.

If you are already in Kerlingarfjöll and prefer to walk, head towards the main road (F35) and walk south.
