If you are in the center of Kópavogur, start at the Kópavogur Church (Kópavogskirkja) which is a well-known landmark. From the church, head southeast on Smáratorg towards the intersection with Heiðmerkurvegur. Once you reach the intersection, turn left onto Heiðmerkurvegur. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass several residential areas and some shops along the way. Keep an eye out for the Þjóðhátíðarlundur sign. The park entrance will be on your left, look for the green space and the surrounding trees. The exact address is Heiðmerkurvegur, 161.

You will need to get off at the 'Heiðmerkurvegur' stop. Once you exit the bus, walk back towards the Heiðmerkurvegur road. The entrance to Þjóðhátíðarlundur will be a short walk ahead on your left. It is a lovely park to explore.
