Getting There

• Car

  From the Northwestern Region, head southeast towards Route 43. Follow Route 43 until you reach Route 41. Merge onto Route 41 and continue driving until you reach the town of Grindavík. Upon entering Grindavík, look for Norðurljósavegur and turn onto this road. Continue on Norðurljósavegur 9 until you reach the Blue Lagoon, which will be on your right. Please note that parking fees may apply, so be prepared for potential costs.

• Public Transportation

  If you are traveling by public transportation, you can take a bus from various locations in the Northwestern Region to the capital city, Reykjavik. Once in Reykjavik, you can use the Flybus service or the Gray Line to reach the Blue Lagoon. The bus will take you directly to the entrance of the lagoon. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary. Tickets for the bus to Blue Lagoon typically cost around 3,000 ISK one way.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in the Northwestern Region to the Blue Lagoon. This option may be more expensive, with fares potentially ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 ISK depending on your starting location. Taxis provide a convenient means to get to the lagoon without worrying about public transport schedules.

• Shuttle Service

  Several companies offer shuttle services to the Blue Lagoon from major hotels and tourist spots in the Northwestern Region. You can book these shuttles in advance online or through your hotel. Prices generally range from 3,500 to 5,000 ISK per person for a round trip.
