Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Harpa Concert Hall, exit the building and head south towards the coastline. Walk along the waterfront promenade for about 10 minutes until you reach the statue of Sólfar (Sun Voyager). Continue walking along the path towards the city center, and after about 5 more minutes, you will reach the intersection at Lækjargata. Turn left onto Lækjargata, and then take the first right onto Skólavörðustígur. Keep walking up this street, and you will soon see the Hallgrímskirkja church on your left. Continue past the church, and the statue of Leifur Eiríksson will be directly in front of you at the top of the hill.

Public Bus
From the main bus terminal in Reykjavik (Hlemmur), take bus number 14 towards 'Breyðholt'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop 'Hallgrímskirkja'. From the bus stop, walk towards the Hallgrímskirkja church, which will be visible from the stop. Once you reach the church, the Leifur Eiríksson statue is located directly in front of it, at the top of the hill.

If you prefer a quicker option, you can easily hail a taxi in any part of Reykjavik. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Leifur Eiríksson statue, near Hallgrímskirkja'. The ride should take about 5-10 minutes depending on your starting location. The taxi will drop you off right in front of the statue.
