If you are driving, start from the town of Hveragerði. From the center of Hveragerði, head east on Þjóðvegur 1 (the Ring Road) for about 4.5 km. Look for the sign for Reykjadalur Valley, and turn left onto the gravel road that leads to the parking area. There is a small parking fee, usually around 1,000 ISK, which can be paid at the payment machine at the parking lot. From the parking area, it's about a 3 km hike to the valley.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Hveragerði. The bus ride takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Hveragerði, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 km to the entrance of the Reykjadalur trail.
