Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town in the Highlands, such as Hella. From Hella, take the Road 26 heading northeast. Continue on this road until you reach Road 32. Take the left turn onto Road 32 and follow it until you reach the junction with Road 1. Turn left onto Road 1 and continue towards the East Fjords. Once you reach the junction for Road 208, take this road towards Landmannalaugar. After approximately 30 km, you will find the parking area for Brennisteinsalda, which is well marked. Please note that a fee may be required for parking, typically around 1,000 ISK per day.

If you prefer public transportation, check for bus services that operate in the Highlands. Many buses run from Reykjavik to Landmannalaugar during the summer months. Once you arrive at the Landmannalaugar bus stop, you will need to hike to Brennisteinsalda. The hike is approximately 2 km and takes about 30 minutes.
