If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Borgarnes in Western Region. Drive east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for about 80 km. After passing the town of Reykholt, continue on Route 1 until you reach the junction with Route 50. Take Route 50 south towards the town of Flúðir. After approximately 30 km, turn left onto Route 32, which will take you to Möðrudalsleið. Follow Möðrudalsleið for about 15 km until you reach the Iceland Desert. Make sure to have a GPS or map handy as some areas may have limited signage.
