Car
If you are driving from Ísafjörður, take Route 61 south towards Þingeyri. Continue on this road for approximately 13 km until you reach the junction for Route 63. Turn left (east) onto Route 63, and drive for about 6 km until you see signposts for Tungudalur. Follow the signs into the Tungudalur Valley. As you approach the end of the valley, you will see the entrance to Vestfjarðagöng. The scenic view along the way offers beautiful landscapes typical of the Westfjords.

To reach Tungudalur Vestfjarðagöng by public transport, start at the bus terminal in Ísafjörður. Check the schedule for the local bus service that operates towards Þingeyri.
