From Riggins, Idaho, head southeast on US-95 S for about 12 miles. Look for the sign for Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. Turn right onto Forest Road 394 (Hells Canyon Road). This road will take you into the Hells Canyon Wilderness area. The road can be rough, so a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. Follow this road until you reach the trailhead for your desired hiking trail within the Hells Canyon Wilderness.

Once in Riggins, you will need to rent a car or arrange for a taxi or rideshare service, as public transportation does not reach the Hells Canyon Wilderness directly.
