Getting There

• Walking

  From Lincoln Home National Historic Site, start at the Visitor Center located at 426 South Seventh Street. Head north on South Seventh Street. Turn right onto East Washington Street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with East Adams Street. Turn left onto East Adams Street. The Old State Capitol State Historic Site will be on your right at 526 E Adams St, about a 15-minute walk (0.7 miles) from the Lincoln Home.

• Car

  If you're driving, exit the Lincoln Home National Historic Site parking area and turn left onto South Seventh Street. Continue straight and turn right onto East Washington Street. Drive straight and turn left onto East Adams Street. The Old State Capitol State Historic Site will be on your right at 526 E Adams St. There is street parking available nearby, but be aware that parking meters may charge a fee, typically around $1.00 per hour.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, you can catch the Springfield Mass Transit District bus from the nearest stop to Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Take bus route 10 (Eastside) from the stop on South Seventh Street and East Jefferson Street. Ride for approximately 5 minutes and get off at the stop on East Adams Street.
