Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from any location within Giant City State Park, start by exiting the park onto Giant City Road (Route 146). Follow Giant City Road east until you reach the intersection with Route 51. Turn left onto Route 51 North and continue for approximately 10 miles. Look for the signs directing you to Pomona Natural Bridge. Turn right onto Natural Bridge Road and follow the road until you reach the parking area for Pomona Natural Bridge. Note that there are no fees for parking at the site.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to arrange a ride or shuttle service from your current location in Giant City State Park to the nearest town with transit services, which is Carbondale. From Carbondale, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Pomona Natural Bridge. The address is Natural Bridge Rd, Pomona, IL 62975. Make sure to confirm the fare with your taxi or rideshare provider before starting your journey, as costs may vary.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, if you are already near the trails within Giant City State Park, you could hike to Pomona Natural Bridge. Start on the Giant City Nature Trail, and follow the markers to connect with the Pomona Natural Bridge Trail. This will take you through scenic areas and is a great way to experience the natural beauty of the region. The hike is approximately 4 miles one way and will lead you directly to the bridge. Be sure to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water. There are no additional costs for accessing the trails.
