Depending on your exact location, you may need to navigate local streets to reach the nearest intersection with IL-13. Once on IL-13, continue east for about 4 miles until you reach the junction with US-51. Merge onto US-51 S towards Carbondale. After about 7 miles, take the exit for IL-148 S towards Carterville. Follow IL-148 for approximately 3 miles, and then turn left onto Crab Orchard Road. The entrance to the refuge will be on your right. Parking is available on-site.
