Car
From Matthiessen State Park, exit the park and turn left onto IL-178 N. Continue on IL-178 N for approximately 3.5 miles. Merge onto I-80 W via the ramp to Peru. Stay on I-80 W for about 5 miles, then take exit 75 for IL-251 N toward North Utica. Follow IL-251 N for about 4 miles until you reach the intersection with E Canal St. Turn left onto E Canal St, and the La Salle County Historical Museum will be on your right at 101 E Canal St, North Utica, IL 61373. Parking is available on-site.

From Matthiessen State Park, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the nearest bus station or train station. The closest options are in Peru, IL. Depending on the service you choose, it will take about 15-20 minutes to reach these stations. From Peru, you can catch a local bus to North Utica. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as it may not run frequently. Once in North Utica, walk to E Canal St and head east until you reach the La Salle County Historical Museum at 101 E Canal St.
