Merge onto I-255 N and follow signs for I-55 N. Take exit 1B for IL-3 N toward East St. Louis. Continue on IL-3 N, then take the exit toward US-40 W. Merge onto Industrial Ave. The Welcome To Illinois Sign is located at 402 Industrial Ave, on the right side.

To reach the Welcome To Illinois Sign via public transportation, take the MetroLink light rail. Board the MetroLink at any station in St. Louis and travel towards the East St. Louis station. After exiting at the East St. Louis station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach the Welcome To Illinois Sign, as it is approximately 2.5 miles away. Expect to pay around $10-$15 for the taxi or rideshare ride.
