Other notable sites include the Burpee Museum of Natural History, home to the Jane the T-Rex fossil, and the Discovery Center Museum, an interactive children's museum. The Sinnissippi Park Music Shell hosts the Rockford Jams Summer Music Series.The Rockford Park District has received the National Gold Medal for excellence in parks and recreation management twice.
