From Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center, head east on IL-71 E. Continue for about 3.5 miles until you reach the intersection with IL-178 N. Turn left onto IL-178 N and drive for approximately 2 miles. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto E 3rd Rd. Follow this road for about 1 mile until you see the entrance to Matthiessen State Park on your left. The fort area is located within the park, where you can find parking available.
