Ram Bagh: A Mughal Garden of Tranquility

Ram Bagh, originally known as Aram Bagh (Garden of Rest), is a testament to the Mughal dynasty's appreciation for natural beauty and architectural precision. Constructed in 1528 by Emperor Babur, it is considered one of the earliest Mughal gardens in India. The garden's design reflects the Charbagh style, influenced by Persian gardens, dividing the area into four parts with walkways and water channels, symbolizing the Islamic concept of paradise.Located about 8 kilometers north of the Taj Mahal, Ram Bagh was a temporary resting place for Babur's remains before they were moved to Kabul. The garden was later renovated by Nur Jahan, the wife of Jahangir, further enhancing its beauty. The garden sources its water primarily from the Yamuna River, channeled through three cascades across three levels, creating a refreshing environment.
