    From the Chowk Bazaar taxi stand, the garden is within walking distance. Head towards Eden Sanatorium (Saheed Durga Mall District Hospital), and you'll find the garden just below it. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes, though the road can be steep. There are four gates to enter the botanical garden.

Lloyd Botanical Garden, established in 1878, is a serene escape nestled in the heart of Darjeeling. The garden was founded when William Lloyd of Lloyd's Bank gifted 40 acres of land to establish a botanical garden. Sir Ashley Eden, then secretary of the Government of Bengal, accepted the land, and the garden was designed under the supervision of Sir George King. The garden is home to a diverse collection of Himalayan plants, including various species of bamboo, oak, magnolia, and rhododendron. It also boasts a wide array of exotic plants from around the world, such as hawthorn, blackberry, plums, and cherries. A highlight is the conservatory, which displays over 150 species of cacti and succulents. The garden also features an Orchidarium with a display of some 2,500 orchids showcasing around 50 varieties. The garden is divided into three sections: the upper section showcases indigenous Himalayan plants, the middle section features ferns, conifers, and alpine collections, and the lower section displays exotic plants from various countries. Visitors can also explore a rock garden and a medicinal plant section. The garden is a popular spot for recreation, offering beautiful vistas and a peaceful atmosphere.
