Getting There

Walking
From the main market area in Darjeeling, head towards the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) station. Walk along the Gandhi Road towards the north. After about 15-20 minutes, you will reach the junction where you can see the DHR tracks. Continue straight for another 5 minutes until you reach the Chowrasta (the main square). From Chowrasta, take the road leading to the north towards 'Ghoom'. After approximately 10 minutes, you will reach the Ghoom Monastery. From there, you can catch a shared jeep or a local bus going to Mirik. Make sure to inform the driver to drop you off at the Mirik Lake View Point.

Shared Jeep
After reaching Ghoom Monastery, find a shared jeep heading towards Mirik. The journey will take about 1-1.5 hours. The jeeps usually leave when they are full. Once you arrive in Mirik, ask the driver to drop you at the Mirik Lake View Point, which is known locally. The viewpoint is located near the lake, and you can easily find your way there by following signs or asking locals.

Alternatively, from the Chowrasta area, you can also take a local bus to Mirik. Buses run regularly throughout the day. Make sure to check the bus schedule at the bus stand. The bus ride to Mirik takes about 2 hours, and will drop you at the Mirik bus stand. From there, you can either take a short walk to the Mirik Lake View Point or hire a local rickshaw to take you.
