Walking
Start at the Mall Road, the central promenade in Darjeeling. Head towards the direction of the Darjeeling Chowk Bazar, keeping an eye out for the signs that point to Observatory Hill. After walking for approximately 10-15 minutes, you will reach the junction where the road branches off toward Observatory Hill. Follow the signs and continue uphill. The path is well-marked and has a moderate incline. As you ascend, you will pass by the Bhutia Busty Monastery, which is a good landmark to note. The Observatory Hill View Point is located at the top of this road, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Local Transport (Rickshaw)
If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a local rickshaw from Mall Road to take you to Observatory Hill. The rickshaw fare is typically around ₹50-₹100 depending on your negotiation skills and the exact drop-off point. Ask the rickshaw driver to drop you at the nearest point to the Observatory Hill View Point. From there, you may need to walk a short distance uphill to reach the viewpoint.
