From Pahalgam, continue towards Aru Valley. The road to Aru is well-maintained, and it is about 12 km from Pahalgam. Once you reach Aru, you may need to park your car. Ensure that you have made arrangements for a local guide or trekking service, as the last segment to Tarsar Lake involves trekking.

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Srinagar to Anantnag. From Anantnag, you can catch a local bus or a shared taxi to Pahalgam. Once in Pahalgam, you will need to hire a local guide and arrange for a ponny (horse) ride or a trekking service to take you from Aru Valley to Tarsar Lake. The trek from Aru to Tarsar Lake is around 12 km and can take approximately 5-6 hours depending on your pace.
