Once you reach Sonamarg, follow the road signs towards Thajwas Glacier. You may need to park your vehicle at designated parking areas in Sonamarg. From there, the glacier is about 3 kilometers away.

You can take a bus from Srinagar to Sonamarg. Buses leave regularly from the Batamaloo Bus Stand. The fare is around INR 100-150 and the journey takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. Once in Sonamarg, you can hire a local taxi or a pony to reach Thajwas Glacier, which is about 3 kilometers away. Expect to pay around INR 500 for a taxi or INR 800-1000 for a pony ride.
