Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Srinagar to the Kashmir Lakes Trek starting point, head east on Lal Mandi Road toward the Srinagar-Leh Highway (NH 1D). After about 1.5 km, turn left onto the NH 1D. Continue for approximately 18 km until you reach the town of Sonamarg. From Sonamarg, follow the signs to the Thajiwas Glacier. You will find parking available near the trekking starting point. Note that there may be a parking fee, so keep some cash handy.

  • Taxi

    Taking a taxi from Srinagar is a convenient option. You can hire a taxi from the local taxi stand or book one through a ride-hailing app. The drive to Sonamarg takes about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic.
