Car
If you're driving from Kochi, head east on NH544 towards Angamaly. Continue on NH544 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach Kothamangalam. Once in Kothamangalam, take a left onto Kothamangalam - Muthirapuzha Road (also known as Kothamangalam - Adimali Road). Continue along this road for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for Aaliveenakuthu Waterfalls as you approach the area. Find a suitable parking spot near the location (check for any local parking fees). From the parking area, it's a short hike to the waterfalls.
Public Transportation
From Kochi, take a bus from the Ernakulam KSRTC bus station headed to Kothamangalam. The journey should take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Kothamangalam, you can hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to take you to Aaliveenakuthu Waterfalls. The fare for a taxi can range from ₹300-₹500 depending on negotiation. The taxi will drop you off at a nearby parking area, from which you will need to hike a short distance to reach the waterfalls.
Bike Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bike in Kochi. After renting, take NH544 towards Kothamangalam. Once you reach Kothamangalam, follow the same route as described for cars. Riding a bike allows you to explore the scenic beauty at your own pace. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules. Parking for bikes is usually available near the waterfalls without any additional cost.
