Getting There

• Ferry

  If you are in Fort Kochi or Mattancherry, head towards the Fort Kochi jetty. Purchase a ticket for a ferry heading to Vallarpadam. The ferry ride offers beautiful views of the backwaters and takes about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vallarpadam ferry terminal, exit the terminal and walk straight for approximately 1 kilometer along the main road until you reach the National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom.

• Bus

  From the Ernakulam South Railway Station, take a local bus towards Vallarpadam. Look for buses labeled 'Vallarpadam' or 'Kochi Port'. The bus ride will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you reach Vallarpadam, get off at the stop closest to the Basilica. From there, it is a short walk of about 500 meters to the National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom.

• Auto-Rickshaw

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take an auto-rickshaw from anywhere in Kochi. Simply tell the driver you want to go to the National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom in Vallarpadam. The ride will take about 30-45 minutes depending on your starting point. Ensure that you agree on the fare before starting the journey.

• Walk

  If you are staying in Vallarpadam or nearby, walking to the National Shrine Basilica is a pleasant option. The Basilica is situated along the main road, and you can follow local signboards. The area is generally safe for pedestrians, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from most points in Vallarpadam.
