Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Leh Main Bazaar, head east on Fort Road towards the Leh Palace. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Shanti Stupa Road. Turn left onto Shanti Stupa Road. From here, it's a steep uphill walk of approximately 2 kilometers. Follow the road as it winds up the hill, and you will soon see the Shanti Stupa. The walk will take around 30-45 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views of Leh and the surrounding mountains.

    If you are near the Leh Palace, start walking down the hill towards the Main Bazaar. Before reaching the Main Bazaar, look for the sign for Shanti Stupa Road on your right. Turn right onto Shanti Stupa Road and begin your ascent. The distance from the palace to Shanti Stupa is approximately 1.5 kilometers, and it should take you around 20-30 minutes to reach the stupa.

  • Walking

    From the Leh Airport, you can take a taxi to the Leh Main Bazaar. Once at the Main Bazaar, follow the directions from the first option. If you prefer walking, it is approximately 6 kilometers from the airport to the Main Bazaar, which will take about 1.5 hours. After reaching the Main Bazaar, follow Shanti Stupa Road as previously described.
