From the Police Bazaar area in Shillong, take a local bus heading towards Cherrapunji. Buses run frequently, so you shouldn't have to wait long. The bus fare is usually around 50-100 INR. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Arwah Cave. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the nearest stop to Arwah Cave, look for signs or ask locals for directions to the cave, which is about a 15-20 minute walk from the bus stop.

Shared Taxi (Sumo)
Head to the shared taxi stand at Police Bazaar where you can find Sumos headed towards Cherrapunji. The fare is typically around 100-150 INR per person. Once the vehicle is full, it will depart. The ride takes approximately 1.5 hours. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Arwah Cave. From there, follow local directions or signs to walk about 15-20 minutes to reach the cave entrance.

For the adventurous, consider trekking to Cherrapunji from Shillong. You can start from the Shillong peak or any nearby trekking trail.
