Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Gangtok, head towards the NH10 (National Highway 10) in the direction of Siliguri. Continue on NH10 until you reach the town of Jorethang, approximately 60 km from Gangtok. From Jorethang, take the road towards Pelling which is well marked. After about 17 km, take a left turn at the sign for Bermiok. Follow this road for about 10 km until you reach Bermiok. The total journey will take approximately 3 hours. Make sure to check your fuel levels and vehicle condition before departure.

Public Transportation

From Gangtok, you can take a shared taxi or a bus to Jorethang. Shared taxis leave from the MG Marg area in Gangtok and can take about 2-3 hours to reach Jorethang, depending on traffic. The fare is usually around INR 200-300. Once you reach Jorethang, you can find shared taxis or local buses heading towards Pelling. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Bermiok, which is about 10 km from Pelling. The total cost for the journey from Gangtok to Bermiok, including both legs of the journey, is approximately INR 400-600 and may take around 4-5 hours.

Private Taxi

Hiring a private taxi from Gangtok will give you more flexibility and comfort. You can book a taxi through local travel agencies or online platforms. The cost for a private taxi could range from INR 2500 to INR 3500 for a round trip. The journey will take approximately 3 hours. Ensure you negotiate the fare before starting your trip and discuss any additional stops you may want to make along the route.
