Getting There

  • Car

    If you're starting from Gangtok, drive towards Mangan via the NH10 highway. The distance is approximately 100 km and will take around 4 hours. From Mangan, take the road to Lachen. After reaching Lachen, continue to Yumthang, which is about 25 km away. Make sure to carry your permits as Zero Point is a restricted area.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Gangtok, take a shared taxi or bus to Mangan. Once in Mangan, you can find shared taxis to Lachen. After reaching Lachen, you must hire a local taxi to Yumthang and then onto Zero Point. Total travel time can take 6-8 hours depending on the waiting time for taxis.

  • Local Taxi Hire

    Once you reach Yumthang, hire a local taxi to take you the additional 20 km to Zero Point. Ensure you negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi ride will take about 30-45 minutes depending on road conditions. Expect to pay around INR 2000-3000 for a round trip.
