If you are traveling by car, head to the town of Namchi. From the Namchi bus station, take the road towards Damthang. Follow this road for approximately 5 km until you reach a fork. Take the left fork towards Namchi Rock Garden. Continue straight for another 3 km, and you will see signs directing you to the Namchi Rock Garden. There is parking available on-site, but ensure you arrive early as it can get crowded.
Public Transportation
To reach Namchi Rock Garden using public transportation, first take a bus from Gangtok to Namchi. Buses leave regularly from the Sikkim National Transport bus station in Gangtok and take about 3-4 hours. Once you arrive at Namchi bus station, you can either take a local taxi or an auto-rickshaw to Namchi Rock Garden. The distance is about 8 km, and the fare for a taxi is around INR 200-300. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand if you are using an auto-rickshaw.
Combination (Public Transport + Local Taxi)
Another option is to take a shared taxi from Gangtok to Namchi. This is a faster option than the bus and takes around 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Namchi, you can hire a local taxi (INR 200-300) to take you to the Namchi Rock Garden. This option is more convenient as shared taxis usually drop you closer to your final destination.
Ropeway + Taxi
For a unique experience, consider taking the Namchi Ropeway, which offers stunning views. First, take a taxi or local transport to the ropeway station. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the views and then take a local taxi down to Namchi Rock Garden, which is approximately 5 km away. The taxi fare will be around INR 150-200.
