Note that parking may incur a fee of around INR 100-200 per day. From Govindghat, you will need to trek to Ghangaria, which is the base for visiting the Valley of Flowers. The trek to Ghangaria is about 14 km and may take 4-6 hours. Ensure you carry water and snacks for the journey. Once in Ghangaria, you can ask locals for directions to Shiv Sarovar.

For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from Rishikesh or Haridwar to Joshimath. This journey can take around 10-12 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. From Joshimath, you can take a shared taxi or a local bus to Govindghat. Upon arriving at Govindghat, you will need to trek to Ghangaria. The trek is approximately 14 km and will take about 4-6 hours. Upon reaching Ghangaria, inquire with locals for the exact route to Shiv Sarovar.
