From Carmel, head to the nearest bus stop on Main St. and take the IndyGo Route 86 towards downtown Indianapolis. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the 'Ohio St & West St' stop. From there, walk west on Ohio St for 5 minutes, and you will reach the Indiana Historical Society at 450 W Ohio St.

If you're comfortable biking, start from the Carmel Monon Trail. Head south on the Monon Trail until you reach the intersection with 96th St. Turn right (west) on 96th St and continue until you reach Keystone Ave. Turn left (south) onto Keystone Ave and continue until you reach Ohio St. Turn right (west) on Ohio St, and the Indiana Historical Society will be on your left after about 0.5 miles.

If you decide to walk, start at the Carmel Arts & Design District. Head southwest on 1st Ave NW, then turn left onto Carmel Dr. Walk south until you reach Keystone Pkwy. Cross over to the east side of Keystone Pkwy and continue onto Illinois St. Follow Illinois St south to Ohio St. Turn right on Ohio St and walk approximately 0.75 miles. The Indiana Historical Society will be on your left at 450 W Ohio St.
