Getting There

Public Bus

From Denpasar, take a public bus from the Ubung Bus Station heading towards Karangasem. The ride takes about 2 hours. Get off at the Amlapura bus terminal. From there, you can take a local bemo (minibus) to Besakih. Make sure to tell the driver your destination. The bemo ride will take about 30-40 minutes.
Bicycle

If you are near Ubud, rent a bicycle and take the road towards Tegalalang. Follow the signs to Kintamani, then head towards Besakih. It is about a 20 km ride with some uphill sections, so be prepared for a workout! Make sure to carry water and snacks.
Motorbike Rental

Rent a motorbike from any rental shop in Ubud or Denpasar. Follow the signs towards Karangasem and take the route via Jl. Raya Candidasa. The ride will take about 1.5 hours. Once you reach the area of Besakih, follow the signs to Pura Gelap Besakih. There are parking areas available near the temple.
