Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start from Banyuwangi city. Head east on Jalan Raya Banyuwangi towards Jalan Diponegoro. Continue straight onto Jalan Soekarno Hatta and follow the signs to Licin. Once you reach Licin, turn left onto Jalan Raya Ijen. Follow this road until you reach the entrance of Ijen Crater. There is a parking area where you can leave your car. Note that the road can be steep and winding, so drive carefully. The entrance fee for Ijen is approximately IDR 150,000 per person.

From Banyuwangi, you can take a minibus (angkot) or a shared taxi to Licin. These can be found at the local bus terminal. Once in Licin, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you to the entrance of Ijen Crater. The fare for the ojek is typically around IDR 50,000-100,000 depending on your negotiation skills. Be sure to agree on a price before starting your journey.
