Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Malioboro Street, walk towards the north until you reach the intersection with Jalan Jendral Sudirman. Cross the street and continue walking straight until you reach the Alun-Alun Utara (North Square). Once you get to the square, head south towards Alun-Alun Kidul (South Square). Sasono Hinggil Dwi Abad is located at the south side of Alun-Alun Kidul on Alun-Alun Kidul Street. Look for the large building with traditional Javanese architecture.

• Public Transport (Trans Jogja)

  Take the Trans Jogja bus route 1A or 1B from any nearby bus stop. Get off at the 'Alun-Alun Kidul' bus stop. From there, walk towards the Alun-Alun Kidul (South Square). Sasono Hinggil Dwi Abad is located on Alun-Alun Kidul Street, just a short walk from the bus stop. You will see the historical building as you approach the square.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the rental spots around Malioboro or the city center. Ride towards Alun-Alun Utara (North Square) and then continue south to Alun-Alun Kidul (South Square). The route is relatively flat and should take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach Alun-Alun Kidul, park your bicycle and head towards Sasono Hinggil Dwi Abad, which is located at the south side of the square on Alun-Alun Kidul Street.

• Horse Cart (Andong)

  If you want a unique local experience, hire an Andong (horse cart) from Malioboro Street. Negotiate the price with the driver to take you to Alun-Alun Kidul. The driver will take you through the city, and it should take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Alun-Alun Kidul, Sasono Hinggil Dwi Abad will be easily visible from the square.
