If you are starting from downtown Dubuque, head east on W 3rd St towards Main St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with US-61 N. Cross the street and take the bus stop at the corner of 3rd and Main. Board the 'Dubuque Transit' Bus #6 (East side route) towards the 'Hills and Dales' area. Ride for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the Bellevue Heights Rd stop. From the bus stop, walk up Bellevue Heights Rd for about 0.5 miles. The EB Lyons Interpretive Center will be on your left at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd.

Starting from the downtown area, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental services. Head east on W 3rd St, then take a left onto US-61 N. Continue biking along the bike path that runs parallel to the highway. This bike path will take you directly to the Bellevue Heights area. After about 2.5 miles, turn left onto Bellevue Heights Rd and continue for another half mile. The EB Lyons Interpretive Center will be on your left at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd.
