جامع المواصل الكبير, also known as the Grand Mosque of Mosul, is an uncompleted جامع (congregational mosque) located on the left (eastern) bank of the Tigris River in Mosul. The construction of the mosque started in the mid-1990s, but work was stalled because of the city's circumstances. The building includes a large meeting hall, a hall for religious events, a three-story guest house, and residences for the imams, preachers, and mosque staff. The mosque features 18 domes, and the windows and wall inscriptions are designed in the Abbasid style. It is considered a landmark and architectural masterpiece of Mosul. A Japanese company is involved in overseeing the construction. The project is expected to create over 500 job opportunities and attract visitors from across Iraq and beyond, potentially becoming the largest mosque in the city.
