Discover more about Portbradden Harbour

Portbradden Harbour, nestled on the rugged Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland, offers a tranquil escape with breathtaking scenery. Historically a salmon fishing station, as its Irish name 'Port Bradán' suggests, the harbor has been a vital part of the local way of life since as early as 1620. Today, it remains a place of exceptional beauty, characterized by a row of whitewashed cottages clinging to the foot of a steep, wooded bank. The harbor provides stunning views across Whitepark Bay to Ballintoy Church and the basalt islands known as the Parks. The clear, shallow sea gently laps against a small sandy beach, inviting visitors to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding area is rich in history and offers opportunities to explore the traditional fishing methods once practiced here. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the Causeway Coast Way, which provides access to dramatic cliffs and lush greenery. The path leads to Gid Point, a natural hole in the headland, and on low spring tides, it's possible to walk along White Park Bay to Ballintoy Harbour. While exploring, keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife, including seabirds and marine life. Though once rumored to house the smallest church in Ireland, the actual ancient church site, Templastragh, lies a short distance away on the cliff-top towards Dunseverick Harbour.
