From Longford, take the N4 towards Galway. Continue on the N4 until you reach the town of Athlone. From Athlone, take the N61 towards Ballinasloe. Continue on the N61 until you reach the junction for the N6. Take the N6 towards Galway. Once in Galway, follow signs for the ferry terminal to Inis Meain or Inis Oirr, where you can catch a ferry to Inishmore.
