If you're traveling by car, start from Sligo town. Head west on the N4 towards Collooney. Continue on the N4 until you reach the junction for the R290. Take the R290 exit towards Ballina and follow the road for about 15 km. When you reach the village of Easkey, turn left onto the R297. Follow this road for approximately 6 km until you reach Dunmoran Strand. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the beach, as there is a parking area available right next to the strand.
Public Transportation
To reach Dunmoran Strand via public transport, take a bus from Sligo town. Bus Eireann operates services to Easkey. Check the latest timetable on their website, as it can vary. Once you arrive in Easkey, you can either walk to Dunmoran Strand, which is about 6 km away, or consider taking a local taxi. The walk will take approximately 1.5 hours and offers scenic views along the way. If you opt for a taxi, expect to pay around €10-€15 for the short ride to the beach.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, cycling to Dunmoran Strand is a wonderful way to see the countryside. From Sligo town, take the same route as if driving by heading west on the N4 to Collooney, then follow the R290 and R297 roads. The total distance is about 25 km and can take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Ensure you follow the road signs and remain on designated cycling paths where available.
