Walking
Start your journey in Ennis town center. Head towards O'Connell Square and exit the square onto the narrow street at its northern end, which leads you to the Ennis Cathedral. Continue straight until you reach the bridge over the River Fergus. Cross the bridge and turn left onto the R458 road. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the N85. At the N85 junction, turn right and continue along the footpath. After approximately 1 kilometer, look for a signpost for Barna Woods on your left. Follow the path indicated by the sign, which will lead you into Barna Woods.

From Ennis, make your way to the local bus station, which is located near the town center. Look for the bus service heading towards Galway or any bus that stops near Cappagh Road. Board the bus and inform the driver that you are heading to Barna Woods. The bus will take you along the route, and you should alight at the stop closest to Cappagh Road. Once you get off, walk along Cappagh Road until you see the entrance to Barna Woods. It is a short walk from the bus stop.
