If you are driving, head towards the Glendalough Visitor Centre, located at the east side of the Glendalough Upper Lake. From there, take the R756 road. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for the military road (the R115), which is well signposted. Take this turn and continue for approximately 3 kilometers. Look for a small parking area along the road on your right side, which serves as a starting point for hiking towards Knocknacloghoge.

Public Transportation
To reach Knocknacloghoge by public transportation, take a bus from Dublin to Glendalough. The 'Glendalough Shuttle' service operates from Dublin to Glendalough, and you can catch it from several locations in Dublin such as O'Connell Street. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Glendalough Visitor Centre, follow the same instructions as for driving. You will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers from the Visitor Centre to reach Knocknacloghoge. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes and are prepared for a moderate hike.

If you are already in Glendalough, you can hike to Knocknacloghoge from the Glendalough Visitor Centre. Start at the Visitor Centre and follow the pathway that leads to the Upper Lake. After about 1 kilometer, you will come to the lake's edge. Continue along the trail that skirts the lake, and after approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will see the signs leading you towards the hiking path for Knocknacloghoge. The hike will take around 1 hour, depending on your pace, and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
