If you are starting from Kilkenny Castle, exit the castle grounds and head northeast on Castle Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with High Street. Turn left onto High Street and walk until you reach the main square (The Parade). From the square, take the first right onto Rose Inn Street. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, then turn left onto John Street. The Tholsel will be on your right, located at Gardens, Kilkenny, R95 K851.

If you are near St. Canice's Cathedral, exit the cathedral grounds and walk south on the circular road. Follow the road until you reach the junction with the Green. Turn right onto the Green and continue straight until you reach the junction with the Castle Road. Turn left onto Castle Road and head towards the city center. When you reach the intersection with High Street, turn right, then continue to The Parade. From there, follow the directions to The Tholsel as previously mentioned.
