Walking

From the town center of Killarney, head south on Main Street towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the N71 (Muckross Road). Continue walking on the N71 for approximately 2.5 kilometers. You will pass by the Killarney National Park entrance on your left. Keep walking straight until you reach the Muckross House entrance. Muckross Lake is located just a short walk behind Muckross House. Follow the signs to the lake.
Public Bus

From Killarney, take the local bus service that goes to Muckross House. You can catch the bus at the Killarney bus station or designated bus stops in the town center. The bus route is typically numbered 7 or 8. The journey will take about 15 minutes. Disembark at the Muckross House stop, which is near the entrance to Muckross House. From there, it's a short walk to Muckross Lake, following the signs towards the lake.
Bicycle Rental

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Killarney. Head south on Main Street and follow the N71 (Muckross Road) for about 2.5 kilometers. There are bike paths along the way, making it safe and easy to ride. Once you arrive at Muckross House, you can park your bicycle and walk to Muckross Lake, which is just behind the house.
