If you're driving from Killarney, take the N71 road towards Kenmare. After approximately 25 kilometers, turn left onto the R568 towards Sneem. Continue on the R568 for about 15 kilometers until you reach the village of Sneem. From Sneem, take the R596 towards the town of Castlecove. Once in Castlecove, follow the signs for Cahergal Stone Fort. The fort is located about 3 kilometers from Castlecove, just off the main road. There is free parking available near the fort.

To reach Cahergal Stone Fort using public transportation, first take a bus from Killarney to Sneem. The bus service operates several times a day, and the journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Sneem, you can either walk or take a taxi to Castlecove, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. Taxis may be available in Sneem, but it’s recommended to book in advance. After reaching Castlecove, follow the signs to Cahergal Stone Fort, which is about a 3-kilometer walk or a short taxi ride from the village.

The fort is located just off the road, and you’ll see signs directing you to it as you get closer.
